Vancouver, host to the 2010 Olympic Games is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Canada. It is situated on the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by lots of beaches, mountains and nature.
Tamwood’s summer camp in Vancouver is located in the prestigious Simon Fraser University, at the summit of Burnaby Mountain overlooking beautiful Vancouver. Downtown Vancouver is a short 25 minute drive from SFU.
Vancouver City Centre Campus
Vancouver, host to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Canada and has been rated the 3rd best city in the world to live in (source: Economist, 2016). In the winter, Vancouver enjoys mild temperatures in the city (0-15 C) but gets lots of snow on its local ski mountains making it a great location for an active teen winter camp. With a population of 2.5 million people, Vancouver has lots to offer including three professional sports teams, major theatre and music events, and an array of festivals and special events throughout the year.
Tamwood’s Vancouver City Centre winter camp is operated out of the Tamwood Language Centres campus in downtown Vancouver. Campers take classes on campus and do activities in and around the city.

Simon Fraser University Accommodations
You have the option to live on campus or with a carefully selected homestay family. The modern residence on campus features private and twin rooms with shared washroom facilities, bright and clean dining facilities and spacious common areas. Homestay families are carefully selected by Tamwood’s homestay manager. If you chose to live with a host family you will have the opportunity to experience Canadian family life and you will have free time on Sundays.
Meals on campus are served buffet style and homestay students enjoy full board accommodation with lunch provided on campus, Monday to Saturday.
City Centre Campus Accommodations
You will be placed with a carefully selected homestay family where you will experience Canadian culture and way of life. Hosts are carefully selected by Tamwood’s homestay manager. Host families provide three meals a day and are very caring and friendly to their guest students.
